Privacy Notice
What we collect from shop owners and their customers, why we need it, and how to reach us about it.
- We collect only what we need to run your shop page and bookings.
- For your customers’ details, your shop is in charge and we process them for you.
- We never sell personal data and never show ads on shop pages.
- Questions about your data? Email privacy@lanerent.com.
01Who we are
LaneRent provides online booking for rental businesses in the Philippines. This notice explains what personal data we collect, why, and your rights under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173).
Data Protection Officer: privacy@lanerent.com
02What we collect
From shop owners and staff: your name, email and password (stored scrambled, never in plain text). After signup: your shop name, what you rent, the items, photos and prices you add, and plan and payment records. A mobile number only if you choose to give one.
From customers who send a rental request: name, mobile number, email, preferred contact method and best time, the items and dates they ask for, and details the shop asks for such as size, venue or quantity.
When anyone uses the site: basic technical logs such as IP address, browser and time of visit, used for security.
03Why we use it
- To run your account and your shop page.
- To send booking emails: new request alerts, confirmations, approvals and reminders.
- To answer your questions when you contact support.
- To keep the service secure and fix problems.
- To bill shop owners for their plan.
We process data because it is needed for the service you signed up for, because you consented on the request form, or because the law requires it.
04What we never do
- We never sell personal data.
- We never read, post or send messages on Facebook, Messenger, Viber or WhatsApp.
- We never send SMS or marketing to a shop’s customers.
- We never show advertising on shop pages.
06How long we keep it
We keep data while the shop’s account is active. If a shop pauses or closes, we keep its data for 60 days so the owner can return or export it, then we delete it. Billing records are kept as long as tax law requires.
07How we protect it
Data is sent over encrypted connections and stored with access limited to staff who need it. Passwords are stored scrambled. If a breach affects your data, we tell you and the National Privacy Commission as the law requires.
08Your rights
You have the right to be informed, to access your data, to correct it, to object, to have it erased or blocked, to get a copy you can move elsewhere, and to claim damages.
Customers of a shop should first contact that shop, because the shop controls their booking data. You can also write to us at privacy@lanerent.com. If you are not satisfied, you can file a complaint with the National Privacy Commission.
10Changes to this notice
If we make an important change, we email shop owners and show the new date at the top of this page.
